Mars’ economy to be based on cryptomorphs, says Elon Musk

For Elon Musk, cryptomoedas are ideal for the consensus society that should be built on Mars

The controversial and always polemic Elon Musk, spoke again about his dream that the future Martian colonies he intends to found will have their economy based on cryptoactives.

Elon Musk, hopes to send the first humans to Mars in early 2024, with the ultimate goal of establishing a “self-sustaining city on Mars as soon as possible.

Responding to a Twitter topic initiated by AI researcher Lex Fridman, Musk agreed that “the economy of Mars will work based on cryptoactives”, suggesting that it could be with the novelty cryptomoeda dogecoin or the cryptomoeda Marscoin.

The Marscoin project was founded in 2014 and saw a brief increase in popularity on December 28, 2017, during the cryptomoeda boom, its markecap on that date was $1,088,0000, but has since fallen into obscurity and the only exchange that negotiated the token, NOVA had its project closed in January 2020. Altcoin Golden Profit currently has no market capitalization and no data according to CoinMarketCap.

An interplanetary civilization

Musk has been calling governments’ attention when he says that Mars will not have an organized government like the ones we are used to, but a society of consensus, something that comes against the idea of cryptomorphs in effect.

For him, Mars will have the chance to found a more egalitarian society focused on more collaborative values.

According to the international laws of sovereignty, the sidereal space is considered international territory, as the open seas and for Musk Mars should not follow such rules.

“No Earth-based government has authority or sovereignty over Martian activities. – Elon Musk

Musk’s vision is in line with the Earthlight Foundation’s vision of “Humanity’s Rights and Duties before the Universe,” which states that Mars and all other planets in the solar system are free and freely accessible to all.
